UPDATE!! 2-1-22
2-1-22
Hi to all of you.
If you are reading this update, somehow you have managed to save our class domain (website) address and have miraculously also found/remembered your classmate username and password to gain entrance to our private pages.

CONGRATULATIONS!

This update will be short(er). We hope you have remained healthy and have navigated these years since our 50th reunion without major setbacks due to this pandemic and all it has wrought in our lives, physically, socially, emotionally, financially, spiritually...
But here we are, a few years older and missing 12 more classmates as of this post (that we know of). RIP, '68ers.

A skeleton reunion crew of us are currently hashing over what, if anything, we might plan for 2023, our 55th reunion. It is not a major 10yr. anniversary of our graduation so any plans will be less lavish than #50.

A one night event at a comfortable venue - come as you are, pay as you order from the menu. Your invitation/announcement of date, time, place will probably be available online here or through the TRHS website or alumni news. It is unlikely the committee will be tracking you down aggressively or sending out mass snail mail invitations in the future so this website will remain a good source of information.

Many of you may have moved or changed e-mail addresses. A group broadcast e-mail will be forthcoming hoping to reach most of you here who have provided your e-mail addresses on this website. Please check spam folders for anything from our website. This will be a test to see how successful this method of contact might be. This website has been extended for 3 more years (Feb. 2025) @ $399. Thank you to our class funds!

Tentatively, we are considering Fall 2023 on a weekend that coincides with the 100 year anniversary of the founding of TRHS. We assume any celebration might be planned around Homecoming but as of now, the Roosevelt alumni representative has not been able to provide any details as to plans.
All for now. Stay tuned and we certainly welcome any ideas/suggestions from any of you.
Stay well. Be safe.

Greetings '68 classmates!
Here we are post-reunion and many of us are still in recovery mode. What a wonderful weekend of friendships, fun, and lasting memories to add to the ones we already share.
THANK YOU to all of you, whether you were able to attend or not. And if not, there will always be next time. Like me, maybe you feel deprived of enough time to get around to all those with which you wished to share meaningful conversation. Some of you, I didn't even SEE until scanning through the photos. My loss!

In the weeks to come, I will be modifying this website to reflect current and ongoing news. Please check back from time to time! RSVP and Who's Coming? links are no longer necessary as is the info in several other links. The photos are under ALL PHOTOS in titled albums. ANY photos are yours to download. If you have personal photos to share, please upload and they will be added to ALL PHOTOS. If anything regarding your status or address/contact info changes or you simply wish to give us an update, your classmate profile will remain and can be altered at any time. You may also contact your classmates in the classmate update section if they provided an e-mail address by clicking "send a message" on his/her profile.

We will continue to support this website as long as there is interest and if you can help finance its existence, Jed will happily take contributions. ($600 for 5 years- we may purchase 1 year at a time). Again,THANK YOU from all of us on the committee!

RISE AND SHINE '68!
Today is Day#1 of our fabulous 50th. A few announcements for you as you prepare to attend tonight's event @ River Center (see scheduled events link).
We open the doors at 6:00 pm. Public parking around River Center is scarce and metered or paid parking is an additional cost to you. So please note:

We are providing FREE valet parking!
You will be approaching River Center on SW3rd St most likely from MLK Blvd or 2nd Ave/crossing MLK heading south. There will be a sign indicating valet parking on the front corner (south side) of the building. Initially, there may be a line of classmates if most arrive when the door opens. Please bear this in mind.
If you decide on Uber or Lyft as a transportation option, you will need to have your preferred app already established on your cellphone.

Once inside the front doors, you will be directed to the registration table where you will pick up your name tags, purchase magnets ($5.00), pick up pre-ordered T-shirts, or order one if you wish.

Food tables will be available from 6pm- 8:30-ish. There are 2 cash bars, one on each level. The Zeller brothers will be roaming the venue snapping candid or requested photos that you can later download from this website. LET'S PARTY!

September!!
20 DAYS TO GO!! The committee and so many of you who have corresponded with some of us are getting pumped for this "WE R '68" 50th reunion extravaganza. We are closing in on 200 paid guests so far. Incredible participation... the best yet! There is still time to get your ticket/reservation into Judy Rosset so get on board with attending if you are able. We will need a final count in a week or so to let the caterers know how much food to prepare. Plus, those of us already showing up on the "who's coming" list are getting anxious to see YOUR name appear. Do I have to name names??? Where ARE you?
Hey Everyone, it’s Mary Kay Johnson Smith.  I hope that all of you are as excited as I am about coming to our reunion in just a little over a month from now.  I am so excited to see everyone & share with wonderful people!!  As I was getting my check ready to mail in this past weekend, something was in the back of my mind that I thought I read on our website about the cost of this reunion.  Sure enough, I found it towards the bottom of our website front page.  It was a gentle suggestion to add a little extra funds to your check if you can, to help defray some of the costs.  Here is what was written:  “This ticket price will not cover our reunion costs so donations are appreciated (a HUGE shout out of thanks to those of you who have already gone deeper into your pockets to donate)! The committee is working hard to create a memorable and FABULOUS 50th reunion for all of us to enjoy.”

I am not involved with the committee so I don’t have any idea of the costs but I do know that putting on an event of this magnitude is not cheap.  And I know that our committee wants to make this 50th class reunion as nice and as wonderful as can be.  I know that not everyone is able to donate anything extra and for some, the expenses for this weekend (travel, motels, food, etc.) will be tight to cover.  But if any of us can help them out by sending in extra money, I know they would greatly appreciate it.  The thought that flashes through my mind, is that this committee collectively or maybe just individually (i.e. Jed), could be on the hook for any shortfall after all bills have been paid.  That bothers me.  Someone, and I presume that it was Jed, has put his name on the line making these reservations at the different venues and they are going to want to be paid in full.  And someone is going to be held financially responsible if our TRHS class of 1968 fund doesn’t have enough to cover all expenses.

So, to that end, I implore any of you who can & will, please send some extra money to help cover expenses.  The money is going for a good cause.  And if there is money left over, then I presume that our committee will either keep it in a reunion fund or donate it on behalf of our class to TRHS.  I trust that they will make the right decision about that.  FYI, I am guessing that they would want extra funds separate from the $75.00 ticket.  I would suggest that we either earmark any extra as a donation or send a separate check made out to our TRHS 68 Reunion directly to Jed at 14298 Forest Ct., Clive, IA. 50325.

Hi class of '68. By now you should have received your mailed invitations which included an order blank for our 50th reunion T-shirts (designed by Becky Eckstrand). Don't you love the psychedelic Teddy image? What an appropriate choice for 1968, reminiscent of Rod Cameron's yearbook cover design.
For many of you, the mailed invitation was unnecessary as you have perhaps already used the website or other avenues to make your reservation but it still serves as a reminder. AND how would you know you could order this fabulous T-shirt without receiving an invitation, right?
Your T-shirt order should be mailed separately to the Broken Arrow address on the order blank (checks payable to "Broken Arrow") by Aug. 29. T-shirts will be available for pick up @ the reunion.
6-8-18

Hi all. It is finally summer and DSM has had plenty of it already. In the 100's and swarms of mosquitos. Let's hope by September the environment is more to our liking.
With this update, we announce the addition of a golf outing hosted and arranged by Dave Fanning, golfer extraordinaire, on Sat. 09/22/2018.
All the details are provided under the link "Scheduled Events". Any questions can be answered by Dave (see event details), or if need be, use the "Contact Us" link and either Jed or I may be able to answer them. We need 32 golfers to make this happen!!! Come on Riders, regardless of skill level, even if you are a beginner and want to participate you can always just imagine you are tobogganing down the Waveland long hill when you knock one into the trees.

For today, 4-4-18:
We're getting requests as to where to read Classmates' bio info.  The information you originally entered is mostly in there for our database.  The only part of that info that is available to see is your name, photos, and anything you choose to share in the Comments Box under your Classmates' Update Profile.  Please jump on board, fill up that box, and tell us your story!!
